Joss Arnot’s Dance Company had their production week and first couple of shows at Dance East. I was one of their technicians for their time at Dance East and helped setup their Sound and LX system for the duration. The talented Dame Evelyn Glennie performed with the dancers for their new piece – Wide Awakening. Her percussion kit was mic’d up, as well as the Marimba, to mix it into the backing track written by composer James Keane. James’ track was played in Qlab along with a click track for Evelyn who had a set of inears. We used a timecode track to then sync the lighting with the music. 300 or so LX cues were used, and would have been tricky to replicate the accuracy of the timings, had it not been for the timecode sync.
